Dirty Dancing

"Dirty Dancing" starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey is renowned as a cult classic. A movie that defines a time period. The rebellion of the children. The movie is fun, and it is cute. Unfortunately, a great movie it is not. I enjoy it a lot but to no stretch of the imagination is it well made or well acted. You really do not identify with Baby's character very much except the idea of her turning from good to bad, just like "Grease." What makes the movie fun is the dancing and the music. It almost feels like a musical because of the fantastic soundtrack that is packed with fantastic classics such as; "Where Are You Tonight?," "In The Still of the Night," "Yes," "Time of My Life," "You Don't Own Me," and my personal favorite "Hungry Eyes." It is definitely a love story for the girls but it really is not a good one. The acting is off, the dialogue cheesy, and the story doesn't make much sense at points. It is fun to enjoy because it is such a fan favorite but other then that the film does not have that much to offer. I do highly recommend to download the soundtrack because it really does make the film. The movie is cute, that is about it.

2.5 out of 5 Stars
